Ohio Paranormal Posse Code of Conduct for OPP Members Guidelines for
Investigations Lead OPP Investigators.
1. Private Property cannot be approached or entered without written
permission. If you are caught trespassing and get into trouble, you will be
removed from the team indefinitely.
2. The Property owner will always be offered the chance to attend the
investigation, or have a representative along. They will also be given a copy
of any evidence found on site.
3. Property owners will govern how the investigation will be conducted. They
may be allowed to set any rules they wish, and can end the investigation at
any time they wish. What they say is final.
4. Any member who helps to find a site for investigation will be able to attend
the investigation, no questions asked. This also goes for Non-Team members
as well. The Number of Investigators allowed on any given case may be
different, so I will do my best to cycle through available investigators.
5. Disagreements happen, but there will be no arguing in front of clients. If
the fighting continues, you may be asked to leave the site. We do not need
clients to see the group in disarray.
6. Keep details about personal experiences to yourself while in front of the
client until we can confirm, or debunk them. This will help keep from having
false encounters relayed to the client. Extreme encounters may happen, and
well...at that point what are you going to do. Also, no jumping to conclusions
right off the bat. Give the rest of the team time to evaluate the situation before
imaginations go haywire.
7. Please do not whisper. It is hard enough to determine EVP's as it is. If you
find that you've whispered, make a verbal note on your recorder. Also, do not
speak too loud, or yell. Other investigators may pick up your voice from a
distance, and create a false EVP.
8. If you think you hear something unusual, make a verbal note on your
recorder. This can help validate something was heard.
9. If you find yourself having trouble keeping calm or composed, remove
yourself from the area, and try not to show how shaken you are to the client.
We don't want to panic them.
10. If there are children around or involved, find out from the parents what is
appropriate to talk about around them. If possible, make it a fun learning
experience for them. This may help to keep them calm, and happy. If you are
unsure, simply do not discuss the matters in front of them.
11. Keep the goofing off to an extreme minimum. Joking or kidding around in
small amounts is ok, but we are conducting a serious investigation, and
Goofing can get out of control. This includes trying to scare one another, or
making funny sounds or voices.
12. If we are at a location as guests to another group, their team leader is in
full command of our team. We will conduct ourselves the way their team
leader wishes, or leave the site.
13. When Tom or Myself are on location, we are in charge. I am not trying to
be on a power trip, but someone has to take up the leadership position. What
we say goes. If neither of us are around, I may opt to put someone in charge.
Please respect this decision. I do promise to take into consideration
everyone's idea's and opinions.
14. If a personal experience occurs, tell only one other, and see if anyone
else has a similar experience to help validate this.
